THE BABBLES is a research-driven, family-owned, mission driven company that is at the forefront of the children’s media reform movement by addressing one of the most urgent and unavoidable realities of modern parenting: screen time for children under age 2.

Studies shows that over 75% of infants begin watching television before their first birthday - starting at an average age of 4-months - and consuming nearly an hour per day by 6-months.

The evidence is clear: to reduce the harmful effects of screen time, we must remove overstimulating elements and harmful production techniques.

That's why The Babbles is grounded in developmental science; engaging infants in gentle, prosocial, play-based activities that caregivers and children can easily replicate when the screens are switched off.  Every episode follows the gold-standard guidelines developed by the Children's Media Research and Reform Lab.

Launching globally in 2026, The Babbles represents more than an age-appropriate program - it’s part of a movement to set new global standards for early years media, ensuring that families everywhere have access to mindfully created age-appropriate options.

MEDIA

The Babbles is designed to help babies around the globe build an understanding of pre-verbal communication, while promoting important life skills such as friendship, empathy and cooperation.  Each episode showcases a prosocial play-based activity that illustrates problem solving, creativity and critical thinking, and engages the viewer in these activities.  It emphasizes social-emotional learning through facial expressions, body language and vocalization - the natural language of infants.

Episodes Incorporate:

  • Turn-based play and repetition - because we know that repeated actions lead to greater retention

  • Symbolic gestures and baby sign language - to break down the communication barrier

  • Diverse characters and inclusive themes - reflecting the citizens of the world

  • Sounds and actions that are grounded in reality

  • A Watch & Play co-viewing guide - to help parents bridge the lessons from the screen to their home

Parents are encouraged to communicate with their child as the action unfolds, with the intent to strengthen the learning bond, activate the mirror neurons, and experience the root of the emotional arcs together.

SOUND BOOK

'The Babbles: How are you feeling?' is an audio-visual book designed to help infants develop an understanding of vocalization, body language, and facial expressions, as well as promote important life skills. Infants experience, express, and perceive emotions before they fully understand them. In learning to recognize, label, manage, and communicate their emotions and to perceive and attempt to understand the emotions of others, infants build skills that connect them with those around them.
